Standard back light and number plate assembly fitted after reinforcing the rear mudguard.
Rear shock cover fashioned from 1mm polyethylene sheet.
Wires from original headlamp hidden behind an additional front number plate.
Battery cover fitted with temporary brackets to indicate the approx. position when using a 63ah battery.
Pirelli MT74 2.75x19" tyre fitted to rear wheel.
Saving the $$ for a 1.85x19 rear rim!

February 2022.
New Morad 1.85x19 rim fitted to a spare hub.
The original 48t sprocket and stock chain will be used, along with the existing Pirelli MT74 2.75x19" tyre for now.
March 2022.
Fork upgrade. Honda CR85 forks...... It begins!
April 2022. Honda CR85 Front mudguard Fitted.
April 2022.
At a recent event that required a rear trials tyre to be used, the 2.75x19 I'd fitted was found to be too narrow and lacked grip on the steep hills.
A new Cheng Shin 3.00x19 fitted to the standard Sur-Ron 1.40 rim.
I plan to offset the rim on the hub in the future and go to 3.25x19 when I can find a decent trials tyre.

Tyre swap day!
I decided to fit the 3.00x19 trials tyre to the 1.85 rim and fit a security bolt to prevent tyre slippage when running low pressure.
The never before used wheel was found to be running out of 'true' and needs to be sorted before use. Note to self, don't trust other people's work!
Now looking to see if a 3.25x19 tyre will fit without rubbing the chain.

June 2022.
With the aid of a marker pen, some blu tac and my trusty Sealey spoke key set, I corrected the 'wobble' to within 0.5mm. I also moved the rim over to the left by 5mm, giving room for a wider tyre in the future....
August 2022.
With the extra space made available by moving the rim 5mm to the left, I decide to fit a Heidenau 3.25x19" trials tyre to the 1.85 rim. This is the widest trails style tyre I could find in 19" rim size.
It is a brute of a tyre, weighing in at 4.7Kg, that's over a kilo heavier than the 3.00x19" Cheng Shin previously used. German engineering! On the plus side, it looks like the sidewall may be stiff enough to support the bike if I get a puncture out on the trail.
Out of curiosity, I weighed the Sur-Ron, and it has turned into a bit of a bloater with all the added 'extras'.... Now weighs in at 79.2Kg! I regret nothing!

August 2022.
I've never been happy with the back light and indicators on my Sur-Ron.
I'm experimenting with this set-up for a while. I had to strengthen the indicator mounts, and use a hot air gun to bend the numberplate mount into a more legal orientation!

November 2022.
Final modification of the year!
Top speed suffered when I installed a 58 tooth sprocket, making progress on tarmac roads painfully slow. I bought and fitted a 54 tooth item and hope that I have reached a good compromise between torque and speed.
I'll probably return to a 58 tooth item when I get my new controller in 2023.

Change of plans! I have put the standard forks back on the bike as I needed the Honda forks for another project.
I will miss the rigidity and smooth action of the Honda forks.
